It was crowded and a bit warm at times in the main room! I'm not sure who all got into this picture (which I digitally brightened so you could see beyond a meter), but I'll use this page to list some folks who I didn't get a picture of: David Newman, Chuck Whitby, Mark Pallante, Rik Morgan, Joey Holman, Mike Roberts, Mike Dougherty, Ryan Morrison, Mike Gedeon, Mike Chassin, Eli Tomlinson, Jason Hazelwood, Mike Hill, Fred Wagaman, Dan McIntyre, and Curt Vendel.
I also got time to speak to Infogrames' Jayson Hill, who came to Philly from his home in Massachusetts. Infogrames bought Hasbro (who owns all the Atari licenses now) in January 2001; Jayson was a long-time Hasbro employee. He corrected my pronunciation, by the way -- it is pronounced "Infograhm", NOT "info-graimes" as I have been saying it. :P
Mr. Hill gave me an Atari Anniversary Edition fact sheet about an upcoming 12-game compilation of Atari coin-op games, with S.R.P. of $15.00. It is expected to ship in June 2001 to PSX, DC, and Windows 95/98/Me. Very budget-priced, eh? Most of the games on it have been on other compilations -- Asteroids, Battlezone, Centipede, Missile Command, Millipede, and Tempest. But some are new to the console scene -- Gravitar and Warlords! Rounding out the disk are Crystal Castles, Pong, Super Breakout, and Asteroids Deluxe.
This compilation celebrates the 30th anniversary of Atari. FYI, Jayson also mentioned that most of Hasbro's recent redeux games have sold pretty well, with Frogger doing the best, followed by good success with Frogger2, Q&bert, and overall poor performance of Missile Command. He also stated there are more, yet unannounced redeux's of classic games.
