I talked at length with Chris Tumber from Ottawa, Canada. He had Tsunami (a Tempest homage) running without collision detection, new for the Vectrex, along with some other home-grown Vectrex titles of his. Vectrex was the coolest thing at this show for many people, including myself. Chris educated me about coding in Assembly language for the machine: the Vectrex has 1K RAM, 32K ROM (or 64K ROM using bank switching). He had figured out a way to use a 2600 paddle controller for his Tsunami game, and put it into a custom rectangular housing. His logo on his card (and Vectrex Screen) is, amusingly, "ALL YOUR VECTREX ARE BELONG TO US". (Coincidentally, Chris was oblivious to the recent "All Your Base" internet music video that has been all the rage during early 2001!).
